PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE

JOINT PLANNING COMMISSION

 

Please take notice that the Village Council of the Village of Quincy, Branch County, Michigan will hold a public hearing on an application made by the property owner, Lisa & Patrick Cook, for a Conditional Rezoning of the property from the Residential (R-1) zoning district to the Commercial (C-1) zoning district for the property having the address of 94 East Chicago Street having the property tax identification number 081-N01-000-207.00. This action will allow the applicant to utilize a portion of their lot as an outdoors event venue. 

 

The public hearing for the application will be held at the Village Hall, 47 Cole Street, Quincy, Michigan 49082 (phone 517-639-9065), on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at 7:00 pm. The application and proposed conditional rezoning agreement may be inspected at Village Clerk’s Office located at the Village Hall, during normal business (Monday-Thursday 7:30-6:00). 

 

Written comments submitted to the Village Clerk prior to, or in person to the Chair at, the public hearing will be entered into the public hearing record. All persons wishing to appear at the public hearing may do so in person or by attorney.

Master Plans


The Joint Planning Commission is currently working on the development of a Joint Master Plan for the Village and Township. Until that plan is completed, the following current plans for both entities are in effect:

Medical Marihuana
The Joint Planning Commission is reviewing medical marijuana laws passed by the State of Michigan to determine what will or won't be allowed in the Village and Township.  The following documents have been provided for the JPC to consider as they discuss this issue.

Solar Farms


The Joint Planning Committee is considering the adoption of an ordinance that would regulate the addition of solar infrastructure on to parcels in each zoning district.  The ordinance for each entity will be listed below as soon as it's ready.
